Coverage: Coverage is responsible for the book’s writing, including feature stories, mods (Q+As, quote collections, etc), and more. You conduct interviews with people all over campus and gain numerous writing skills throughout the year. No prior experience with interviews or writing is required to join this section as you will be trained to write at the beginning and throughout the year.
Reference: Reference plans for underclass photo day, senior portrait day, and club photos. They design all the underclass and senior portrait pages by flowing photos and placing coverage they are also responsible to get. Additionally, reference is in charge of all the sports and club pages including placing photos and coverage. Indexing is also part of this section along with a few other tasks.

Business: While the whole staff is responsible for gaining money for the book, business is a section that not only focuses on sales, but they also design all the dedication ads and some of the business ads. Using InDesign, they follow the set theme-based style guide to design ads for students to have a special place in the yearbook. They also work with different businesses to create ads for promotion.Photo: Photo is responsible for the photos on all coverage pages. They attend different events on and off campus to take photos. Along with taking photos of the arts, sports, academics, club events, and more, they also write captions to accompany them using quotes they get through interviews. No prior experience using a camera is required to join this section as you will be trained at the beginning and throughout the year.
Design: Design puts together all the coverage spreads of the book by placing the photos and coverage for each spread and designing based on the yearly theme and set style guide. Using InDesign, staffers gain design skills as they design award-winning spreads each year while having the opportunity to get Adobe certifications.
Editors: Help run their own sections and make sure the production of the yearbook is going well.
Public Relations: PR focuses on creating a brand for The Marquee and promoting the book for sales and staff for recruitment. They run our Instagram page @dsoamarquee, our YouTube channel, and our website dsoayearbook.com. They plan posts, create commercials for DSOA Today, and more to increase our presence around campus.
